A Prophet?!?

Now I realize I am the prophecy, but I don't consider myself a prophet. I wouldn't think of it. I think it belittles what the real prophets have done. I bring this up because apparently now a Christian author thinks he is one. Tony Campolo, who is a pretty good writer, is no prophet. However, on the cover of his new book it says he is, "The radical evangelical prophet". Now if someone else writes that about him in a review or something, so be it, but when it is on the cover of a book that you wrote, and even if you didn't write it, you signed off on it, it sickens me. Almost as bad as setting yourself up to be God. Almost, obviously.

We're going to Belton tonight to witness Ben in a school musical! I think they are doing "State Fair". Have a great weekend, everyone!

A Quick Hartnagle Story

Randy Harris was good this weekend. He talked about vision. Pretty interesting stuff.

So here's a quick one about Hartnagle:

The January of my Junior year, when I had a house with Hartnagle and 3 other guys, I was in a January short course (Church Leadership with Easy Eddie). I had Renae Moore's dad staying with me, as he had a class as well, and it was just the 2 of us. For some reason the heater wasn't working, and it was getting pretty chilly at night. So the week is at an end, Mr. Moore has gone home, and it's just me sleeping there on a Friday night.

Now, this house was fairly large and drafty. It had a lot of windows and even some scary looking trees in the backyard. I didn't really care for sleeping there by myself, but I made do (I heard some strange American Indian music in the garage one night, and it kinda spooked me on the house, I can tell more later if you want me to).

So I get in bed Friday night, and I'm laying there for 45 minutes or so like I usually do. That's when I hear a noise. I had my door shut, so I couldn't see anything, just hear it. Then I start to hear voices, but I can't tell who it is, just that it is some guy. Then one of them goes in our backyard and shuts off the power! Now if the voices didn't freak me out, the fact that everything just went off did! These people here meant business! So I got a golf club out of my bag and got up next to the door.

That's when I heard a female voice, and luckily I recognized it. It was Jennifer, Hartnagle's girlfriend (and now wife). They had just driven in from Colorado, and Hartnagle was killing the breaker to try to make the heater kick back on. Whew! I saw them and showed them the golf club. It was a great night!!

Randy Harris this weekend

At Church this Saturday night, Sunday morning and afternoon, Randy Harris will be speaking. It will be like Christian Worship class all over again! If only we could make Hartnagle come in late to class. That would be classic.

Hartnagle was one of my roommates Junior year (when we were in CW, Grubbs was too), and I have many stories about him, but I think I'll save them for a later date. Not thinking of the best one right now! Perhaps The Juice would like to elaborate on some good ones. The Apple Cider they shared together might be a nice place to start. Or even a story about his faithful rabbit.

So, if any of you are in Dallas, he'll be speaking at Skillman Church of Christ. Google it if you're interested. 7-9 pm, Saturday night.

How Far Can You Go?

Here are two funny articles, testing the limits of credit card signatures and items to mail.

Credit Card Signatures
Postal Experiments

Hail to the King!!

Give the man his due!

I forgot to put this up yesterday, but we read this speech on Sunday night at my house, and it was good. We need to remember what Martin Luther King, Jr. and others have done in the past so that we might have as good of a present as possible. It's not perfect by any means, but it's gotten better, and for that we can thank him and others like him.

MLK's I Have a Dream Speech

If you've never read this before, you really should.

TO a No Go!

Here's a quick one for ya.

Watching the Eagles game on Sunday one thing got me upset- and it has nothing to do with Randy Moss. TO claims to be a team player. Then why is it that instead of sitting on the sidelines with his boys, he's up in the press box with his wife?? Makes no sense. What a piece of garbage. Here's to the Eagles making it 4 in a row on Sunday!! (NFC Champ. losses that is)

Time for a little workout advice!

So I just noticed my friend, The Juice, took his marathon training section off his blog. Could it be that he has been in the air too long and not had a chance to train like he wanted to? This is where I come in. Time to help The Juice, our equivalent of The Cheat, make his marathon dreams come true.

First off, we need to test his muscles to see if he has fast twitch or slow twitch muscle. Perhaps he is a sprinter that is trying to run a marathon? If that is the case, we can stop here.

Next, we realize that being in the air on a cramped airline does nothing aerobically to our marathon-running friend. While he might not be able to run up and down the plane, he can at least run at the back! Here is one of the smallest treadmills I could find. While the other people are working, he can sneak back there, 20 minutes at a time, and get a good workout in.

While he can't always sneak off and run while he should be working, there are other ways to build muscle and lose weight that he might want to look at. They are weighted vests and weighted shoes. He might not be running, but he will be getting in shape, so that when he gets off the plane, those 26.2 miles will only feel like 14! And since he already looks like he's 120 lbs. soaking wet, he can wield all sorts of weights on his chest, legs, arms, and feet, and still look like a regular attendant. This is an added bonus as well, since if he gets attacked by terrorists, they will only hit the weights and not him. He will feel like a true Samurai!

Lastly, here's an article on SW Airlines I found. The only reason I put it here is that The Juice is a flight attendant for this great company, and perhaps reading it will make him try harder in the air, thus increasing the energy he puts into his job, which will be a workout in and of itself. This will help him destroy the competition when he finally does run that marathon! And, after all, isn't that what we set out to do in the first place?

I hope this has been a help to you all. This website might help as well. There are many other aspects that we could look at, but that's all the time we have for it today. If someone else has a problem they would like me to help them with, please respond to this article. 2005 could be your year as well!

Introducing the $499 MacMini

Today was a big day for computer users. Mac OS X was brought down to a price point where anyone could use it. Not that OS X is expensive, but the hardware is... Until now.

Apple debuted the Mac mini today in front of a sold out crowd in San Francisco. This thing looks incredible! If you have never tried OS X, now is the best time to give it a shot. My wife and I love to use it, especially with the iLife programs (iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, iDVD, Garageband). You've never seen programs work together like these, even with the address book, calendar program, and iChat.

I've never seen Apple's website loaded down like it was yesterday. This machine could sell better than the iPod. I guess it is essentially an iPod that can boot OS X. I know of a few people already that are getting one. You should be next. Think about it. Beautiful programs, no viruses or spyware. The thing just works. You could too!

Beltran to the ... Mets?!?!?

I can't believe this.

Beltran playing for the Mets? They're not even a team on the up and up. Did you know last year the Mets didn't even have 1 player hit over .300. Isn't that ridiculous? Beltran only hit .283. He'll fit right in! Why anyone would want to go to the Mets is beyond me. They have an over the hill catcher in Mike Piazza. That's it. Strange.

Well, look for the Mets and Phillies to retool everything again this year, and once again for the Braves to win the division. 15th in a row, I think.

Bobby Cox is the MVP of the league.

The State of Blogging

So I put up some (semi) funny videos of my bro, and NO ONE responds. And I know a whole lot of you have made your own superheroes thanks to me. Well, don't just sit there, post links to your creations!

Come on, people, I need some feedback!! I know you guys come here, what's up? Get it together!! What is blogging without all the responses from my crowd?

Videos of my Bro

While I wait for his CD to finish, check out these videos of my little bro!! I just finished em. I think I need to go to bed. This weekend I'll update about our trip to NY and Ohio. These past 2 weeks have been crazy. We just finished up the DVD for our family, so that took a bit of time. Aight, I'm out. Here are the two videos:
